Kenwood NXR-1700E

The NXR-1700E is the VHF version of Kenwood’s NXR-1700E/NXR-1800E2 range, operating on 136 – 174 MHz.

The Kenwood NXR-1700E is a multi-mode conventional two-way radio repeater. It is the perfect successor to Kenwood’s existing DMR and NXDN repeaters and can be purchased in either analogue or digital mode. Organisations operating long-range communications networks can update their repeater itinerary with the compact NXR-1700E.

The NXR-1700E powers long-range networks with 50/40 W – 1 W RF output power and up to 32 channels. Other functionality includes non-repeat simplex/semi-duplex mode for analogue and NXDN digital, a built-in IP network adapter and multi-cast routing. It is also built with high-quality hardware, including a thermal-controlled cooling fan.

Devices are also designed to be space-efficient, with two devices fitting in a 1U height, 19-inch rack.

Purchase the Kenwood NXR-1700E as an analogue version or with a pre-installed digital key. The CAI is chosen when ordering to set up individual units for either DMR tier II or NXDN protocols with the digital version.

The Kenwood NXR-1700E is a radio repeater for organisations operating long-range two-way radio communications networks. It is the perfect successor to Kenwood’s existing DMR and NXDN repeaters and can be swapped in for immediate use. It is available as an analogue version or with a pre-installed digital key. The digital versions can be set up with DMR tier II or NXDN conventional protocols.

The NXR-1700E provides all of its functionality in a modern, compact and easy-to-manage device. Two NXR-1700E devices fit in a 1U height, 19-inch rack, and hardware features include a thermal-controlled cooling fan, an external power supply, a USB-A connector ready for audio accessories and an external in/out pin from DB25. Devices also feature hot standby system redundancy and a hang timer.

Device status and information is immediately visible on a large 17-inch OLED display.

The NXR-1700E long-range two-way radio network repeater features 50 – 1 W RF output power, up to 32 channels and non-repeat simplex/semi-duplex modes for analogue and NXDN digital. Devices also feature a built-in IP network adapter, multicast routing and SNMP protocol for direct reporting to a generic system.

The Kenwood NXR-1700E also supports G.711 audio codec (for test console and third-party applications), IP remote management, IPIF to external applications (for IP console and OTAP), a built-in SIP IF without external IP console or gateway (digital only), IP remote control interface (IPRCI), enhanced security and CW ID.
